Week of February 15–22, 2026
It's been one of those weeks where I feel like I'm building five things at once and somehow all of them are moving forward. That's both exciting and exhausting, and I wouldn't trade it.
The biggest thing on my mind right now is YourMatrix. What started as a social platform concept has taken a lot of shape this week. I made some significant product decisions — scrapped the $20 one-time fee and the ID verification requirement, and replaced it with phone number authentication through Twilio Verify. Simpler, less friction, more signups. The ID validation always felt like it would be a wall for regular people even though it was the most powerful bot deterrent. Phone auth is the right middle ground. I'm planning to monetize through ads down the road once the user base is there, which makes more sense anyway than trying to charge upfront for an unproven platform.
I also got the legal documentation done for the platform this week — Privacy Policy and Terms of Service under Best ROI Media LLC. Full worldwide coverage, 13+ with parental consent, arbitration clause, class action waiver, the works. Good to have that locked down before launch.
On the technical side, YourMatrix is further along than it looks from the outside. Both the iOS app and the website are built. I implemented Google Cloud Vision API for automated image moderation and have been working through the Supabase backend with Resend handling transactional emails. The platform intentionally has no doom scroll — chronological feed only, no algorithm. That's a core design decision I feel strongly about.
I also finalized the name for the CRM rebrand. After going through a lot of options trying to find that command-center, bird's-eye-view feel, I landed on Kinetic View with kineticview.io. It sounds premium, it's not boxed into just the contractor market, and it captures the idea of seeing everything in motion from above. Really happy with that one.
Got Claude Code fully running in my terminal on Windows this week too — had to fight through some PATH issues but got it resolved. That's been a game changer for how fast I can move on the development side.
The kids had a rough week — one of them had a bad nighttime cough that kept us up, and the dogs have been wrestling like maniacs. One of them took a fall and scared me with the noise he made, but he shook it off. Just one of those weeks where the house is loud and full and alive.
Roblox sessions with the kids are getting rarer. They're growing up. I dreamed about losing them in New Orleans — figured out what that one meant pretty fast. It's not a bad thing, just bittersweet. They're becoming their own people. That's the whole point.
Altogether a good week. A building week. The kind that doesn't look impressive from the outside but lays the foundation for everything that's coming.
