YourMatrix is a social media platform operated by Best ROI Media LLC, a Texas limited liability company based in Houston, Texas. YourMatrix is accessible via web and mobile app and provides users with customizable profiles, community chatrooms, synchronized radio stations, local Town Square features, and content feeds.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of YourMatrix regardless of location. For users in the European Union or European Economic Area, our GDPR Policy provides additional protections. For California residents, our CCPA Policy provides additional rights.

By using YourMatrix, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

2. What We Collect

YourMatrix collects only the minimum data necessary to provide the platform. Here is a complete breakdown of every category of information we collect:

  • Account Identifiers — Username, email address, phone number (hashed after verification). Required.
  • Authentication — Password (bcrypt hashed — we never store plain text), session tokens. Required.
  • Profile Information — Display name, profile photo, cover photo, bio, theme selection, date of birth (age verification only). Partially required.
  • User Content — Posts, photos, videos, audio clips, comments, messages, Spotlights. User choice.
  • Usage Data — Features accessed, pages visited, interactions, session duration, app version. Automatic.
  • Device Information — Device type, operating system, browser type, IP address (used for security, not stored long-term). Automatic.
  • Location Data — City/region only — used for Town Square local features. Never precise GPS. With consent only.
  • Communications — Support requests, reports you submit, feedback, email correspondence with us. When submitted.
  • Business Verification — EIN, business email, website domain. Business Pages only.
  • Compliance Records — DMCA logs, moderation actions, age verification confirmations. Legal requirement.

What we do NOT collect: We do not collect Social Security numbers, credit card or payment information, precise GPS location, biometric data, or any sensitive personal data beyond what is listed above.

3. How We Collect It

We collect your information through three primary methods:

  • Directly from you — When you register, complete your profile, post content, send messages, contact support, or interact with platform features. This is the primary source of your data.
  • Automatically — When you use the platform, we automatically collect usage data, device information, and session data through standard web and app technologies including cookies and server logs.
  • From third-party services — Our SMS verification provider (Twilio) confirms your phone number during signup. We receive confirmation only — your full phone number is hashed and never stored in plain text beyond the verification process.

4. How We Use Your Data

Every piece of data we collect has a specific, documented purpose. We do not use your data for anything beyond what is listed here:

  • Providing the platform — Operating your account, displaying your profile, enabling all platform features including posts, chatrooms, radio stations, and Town Square.
  • Account verification and security — SMS phone verification, preventing unauthorized access, enforcing one-account-per-number policy, detecting fraud and abuse.
  • Age verification — Confirming all users are 18 or older at registration and on an ongoing basis through behavioral monitoring.
  • Content moderation — Reviewing reported content, enforcing Community Guidelines, and keeping the platform safe for all users.
  • Platform improvement — Understanding how features are used to improve performance, fix bugs, and build better experiences. This analysis is aggregate and anonymized where possible.
  • Communications — Responding to support requests, sending service notifications, security alerts, and updates about changes to our policies.
  • Legal compliance — Meeting our obligations under DMCA, GDPR, CCPA, Texas law, and responding to lawful legal requests.
  • Business verification — Validating EIN, business email, and domain information for Verified Business Page applications.

What we never use your data for: Targeted advertising, selling to data brokers, cross-site behavioral tracking, political profiling, or any purpose not explicitly listed above.

5. Who We Share With

YourMatrix shares your information only in the limited circumstances below. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any party for commercial purposes.

Service Providers

We work with a small number of trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the platform. All providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to YourMatrix:

  • Twilio — SMS phone verification at signup. Receives your phone number to send a one-time verification code.
  • Cloud Hosting — Our servers and databases are hosted on a cloud infrastructure provider. Your data is stored on encrypted servers in the United States.
  • Google Cloud Vision — Used for automated content moderation to detect prohibited content. Images flagged for review are processed and not retained by Google beyond the analysis.
  • Email Provider — Used to send transactional emails such as account notifications, security alerts, and policy updates.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information to law enforcement, government authorities, or other third parties when required to do so by law, court order, or legal process, including to respond to lawful requests or to protect the rights, property, or safety of YourMatrix, our users, or others.

CSAM Reporting

In compliance with federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), any discovery of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on the platform will be reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant law enforcement immediately. This reporting is mandatory and cannot be waived.

We will never share your data with: Advertisers, data brokers, analytics resellers, social media aggregators, political organizations, or any party for commercial gain.

6. We Do Not Sell Your Data

YourMatrix does not sell, rent, trade, license, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third party for monetary or other valuable consideration. This has always been true and will always be true.

This commitment covers all categories of personal data including your name, email, phone number, content, usage patterns, device data, location, and any other information you provide to us.

If this ever changes: Should YourMatrix ever change this policy, we will notify all users at least 30 days in advance via email and in-app notification, and provide a clear mechanism to opt out or delete your account before any change takes effect. California and EU users have additional legal protections against any such change.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law:

  • Active accounts — Your data is retained for the full duration of your account. You can delete your account at any time.
  • Deleted accounts — All personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Content is removed immediately upon deletion request.
  • Encrypted backups — Backup systems purge deleted account data within 90 days.
  • DMCA and legal records — Retained for a minimum of 3 years as required for legal compliance.
  • Moderation logs — Retained for 2 years to support appeals and compliance review.
  • Support communications — Retained for 1 year after your last support interaction.

8. Security

YourMatrix implements industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction:

  • Encryption at rest and in transit — All data is encrypted using AES-256 at rest. All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses TLS 1.2 or higher.
  • Password hashing — Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a strong salt. We never store passwords in plain text.
  • Phone number hashing — Phone numbers are hashed after verification. We store the hash only, not your actual number, beyond what is needed for the one-account-per-number check.
  • Access controls — Access to user data is strictly limited to personnel who require it to perform their job functions.
  • Security monitoring — We monitor our systems for unusual activity, unauthorized access attempts, and potential security threats on an ongoing basis.

Report a security vulnerability: If you discover a security vulnerability in YourMatrix, please report it responsibly to security@yourmatrix.io. We take all security reports seriously and will respond promptly.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we implement strong safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

9. Your Privacy Controls

You are in control of your data on YourMatrix. The following controls are available directly from your account settings:

  • Download Your Data (Settings → Privacy → Download My Data) — Export a complete copy of your account data including profile, posts, messages, and activity in JSON or CSV format.
  • Delete Your Account (Settings → Account → Delete Account) — Permanently delete your account and all associated data. Irreversible. All data deleted within 30 days.
  • Notification Settings (Settings → Notifications) — Control which notifications you receive and through what channels — push, email, or in-app only.
  • Location Permissions (Settings → Privacy → Location) — Enable or disable location access for Town Square features at any time.
  • Profile Visibility (Settings → Privacy → Profile) — Control who can see your profile, posts, and activity — public, friends only, or private.
  • Cookie Preferences (Settings → Privacy → Cookies) — Manage your cookie consent. Essential cookies cannot be disabled, but analytics cookies are optional.

CCPA & GDPR Requests: To submit a formal data access, deletion, correction, or portability request under CCPA or GDPR, email privacy@yourmatrix.io. We respond within 30 days (GDPR) or 45 days (CCPA).

10. Cookies

YourMatrix uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the platform and improve your experience. We use three categories of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — Required for the platform to function. Includes authentication tokens, session management, security tokens, and your preference settings (such as theme). These cannot be disabled without breaking the platform.
  • Analytics cookies — Help us understand how the platform is used in aggregate so we can improve it. These are only placed with your explicit consent and can be disabled at any time from Settings → Privacy → Cookies.
  • No advertising cookies — YourMatrix does not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies of any kind.

EU/EEA users are presented with a cookie consent banner on first visit. You can update your cookie preferences at any time from your account settings.

11. Minors

YourMatrix is strictly an 18+ platform. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will immediately terminate their account and permanently delete all associated data.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your minor child has created a YourMatrix account, please contact us immediately at safety@yourmatrix.io. We will investigate and remove the account within 24 hours.

12. California Residents

13. EU / EEA Residents

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, and objection.

14. Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by:

Your continued use of YourMatrix after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you may delete your account before they take effect.
