TL;DR: We use two types of cookies — essential (required) and analytics (optional). Essential cookies keep you logged in. Analytics cookies help us improve the platform and can be turned off anytime. We use zero advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party ad tech. We do not track you across other websites or apps. EU/EEA users see a consent banner; everyone can manage preferences in Settings.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website or use a web app. They allow the platform to remember information about your session — like the fact that you’re logged in — across page loads and visits.

Beyond traditional cookies, YourMatrix also uses related technologies including local storage, session storage, and device identifiers in our mobile apps. This policy covers all of these technologies collectively.

Types of cookies by duration

Session cookies — Temporary cookies that exist only for the duration of your browser session. They are deleted automatically when you close your browser or app.
Persistent cookies — Cookies that remain on your device for a set period or until you manually delete them. Used to remember your preferences and keep you logged in between visits.

2. Cookies We Use

YourMatrix uses a deliberately minimal set of cookies. We have exactly two categories: essential cookies that make the platform work, and optional analytics cookies. That’s it.

No advertising cookies. No tracking pixels. No cross-site surveillance. Many platforms use dozens of third-party cookies to build advertising profiles on you. YourMatrix uses none of those.

3. Essential Cookies

Essential cookies are required for YourMatrix to function. They cannot be disabled. Without them, core features like logging in, staying logged in, and saving your preferences would not work.

4. Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how YourMatrix is being used in aggregate so we can fix bugs, improve performance, and build better features. These cookies are optional — you can turn them off at any time with no impact on your experience.

Analytics data is anonymized and aggregated. We cannot identify individual users from analytics data. We use this data to answer questions like “which features are used most” — not “what did this specific user do.”

5. What We Don’t Use

We think it’s just as important to be clear about what we don’t do with cookies as what we do. YourMatrix has made a deliberate decision to never use the following:

Advertising cookies — Cookies used to build advertising profiles, track you for retargeting, or serve you personalized ads. We have none of these.
Third-party tracking pixels — Invisible tracking pixels from Facebook, Google Ads, TikTok, Twitter, or any other advertising network. None.
Cross-site tracking — We do not track your activity on other websites or apps, and we do not allow third parties to track your YourMatrix activity for use on other sites.
Fingerprinting — We do not use browser fingerprinting or other techniques designed to identify you without cookies.
Data broker cookies — We do not load cookies from data brokers or audience data platforms.

6. Third-Party Cookies

YourMatrix does not load any third-party advertising or tracking cookies. The only third-party technology that may set storage on your device is our analytics infrastructure, which is configured to operate in a privacy-preserving, first-party mode.

If you use social login features or embed content from external platforms in the future, those third parties may set their own cookies governed by their own privacy policies. We will update this policy if and when such features are introduced.

No Facebook Pixel. No Google Ads. No TikTok Pixel. We have made an explicit architectural decision not to load any advertising technology from these or any other ad networks. This will not change.

7. Your Controls

You have multiple ways to manage cookies and tracking on YourMatrix:

Cookie Preferences (Settings → Privacy → Cookies) — Turn analytics cookies on or off at any time. Changes take effect immediately. Essential cookies cannot be disabled.
Browser Controls (your browser settings) — All major browsers let you block, delete, or manage cookies directly. Note: blocking essential cookies will prevent you from staying logged in.
Mobile App Settings (Device Settings → YourMatrix → Tracking) — On iOS, you can use App Tracking Transparency to limit tracking. On Android, you can manage app permissions in device settings.
Private / Incognito Mode (your browser’s private mode) — Using YourMatrix in a private browsing window means cookies are not stored after you close the tab. You will need to log in each time.

8. EU / EEA & Consent

Users in the European Union and European Economic Area have additional rights under the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR regarding cookies and similar technologies.

Consent banner — EU/EEA users are shown a cookie consent banner on their first visit. Essential cookies are placed regardless of consent. Analytics cookies require explicit opt-in.
Granular choice — You can accept all, decline analytics, or manage individual categories from the banner or from Settings → Privacy → Cookies at any time.
Withdraw consent anytime — Changing your mind is easy. Visit Settings → Privacy → Cookies to update your preferences at any time. Your choice takes effect immediately.
No consent = no analytics cookies — If you don’t interact with the consent banner, we default to essential cookies only. We do not assume consent from inaction.

9. Policy Changes

If we add new cookies, remove existing ones, or change how we use cookies in a material way, we will update this Cookie Policy and notify you by updating the effective date and displaying an in-app notice. If the changes require renewed consent under GDPR, EU/EEA users will see a new consent prompt.
